TaylorMade's golf ball factory in Korea: Nassau Golf

TaylorMade acquired Nassau Golf in South Korea in 2021. Nassau had supplied the brand for more than 15 years, making urethane and ionomer balls and mantle layers for TP5 and TP5x production.

What Nassau made for TaylorMade

The acquisition report identifies Nassau's contribution to the TP5 and TP5x operation in South Carolina. TaylorMade named the acquired operation TM Golf Ball Korea. The company also had ball operations in South Carolina and Taiwan.

Nassau made mantle layers used in TaylorMade’s TP5 and TP5x production in South Carolina, alongside its finished urethane and ionomer golf balls.

Quattro, QX Soft, Cyber and Cyber Pro

I was looking at the Quattro, QX Soft, Cyber and Cyber Pro models while getting quotes for a golf ball project. Those were existing Nassau catalog models.

During my original research, I was quoted a 120-unit minimum for the basic Quattro.

Ordering after the acquisition

MyGolfSpy reported in January 2022 that Nassau was reducing supply to some smaller ball companies.

Nassau Golf became TM Golf Ball Korea. TaylorMade also sources golf bags from Shining Golf.

I just found the factory that makes TaylorMade's balls.

Nassau Golf in Korea makes the core for the TP5 and a whole range of other balls for TaylorMade and other brands.

They were actually acquired by TaylorMade about 18 months ago.

They're one of the OGs of the modern golf ball,

and their minimum started only 120 units for their basic Quattro model.

Each of their boilerplate models is comparable to balls that you and I are probably familiar with.

They've got the QX Soft,

the Cyber and Cyber Pro at the bottom,

and the Quattro as their base right here.

Anyway,

I've looked really closely at at least five golf ball manufacturers over the last few days.

This is the one that I'm getting quotes from for a project.
