LIV's The Duels vs the PGA Tour Creator Classic
The Duels just dropped, and it's way better than the Creator Classic.
Don't get it twisted, though. Name another major sports league doing stuff like this and broadcasting it. You can't. The PGA Tour's product takes creators, puts them on a new stage and gives it their least valuable airtime. I applaud them, to be clear.
Now look at The Duels. Instead of pulling the creators into the LIV world, LIV said we'll come to you. There's no live broadcast in the middle of my Wednesday. It drops in prime time on Sunday on Grant Horvat's YouTube channel.
Creators have two things: personality and distribution. The Creator Classic largely ignored the distribution.
The last Creator Classic has 1,000,000 views right now. The Duels will get that today, then rip in the algo for months.
