3 Questions to Ask Before You Start a Golf Brand
Before you start a golf brand, put down the shitty logo, take a deep breath, and answer three questions.
1. What do you stand for? Good times, fun polos and five-star reviews is super saturated. Those value props lead to commodity brands. If anybody can do it, nobody should waste their time.
2. Who cares about this brand? New golfers? The old school? Women? Couples that play golf together? Kids? Then the harder part: does what you stand for resonate with the people you want to care about it?
3. How are you going to get it in front of people? Going door to door selling to pro shops to get it on shelves? Cool. How are you going to get it off the shelves? Or are you about to become just another brand in my Instagram feed? I've seen 30 or 40 of those recently.
The more specific your answers to all three, the better positioned your brand will be.
